《十日談》 薄伽丘
黑死病襲捲佛羅倫斯，十名年輕男女為躲避疫情，而到鄉間別墅住十天。他們決定以每人每天講一個故事作為消遣，因此有了書中的一百個故事。故事主題呈現了生活的各種風貌，當中更充滿了對於掌權者及教會的諷刺。
薄伽丘用文字構築出一個讓人能沉浸其中並短暫逃離現實的世界。虛構的故事及跳脫當時文學寫作的創新手法讓人們看見了小說的雛形。作品傳遍歐洲後，也影響了喬叟，並促使他創作了《坎特伯里故事集》
《十日談》由故事中的故事所組成，這些故事則由十個不同的人講述，翻譯的難處便是如何巧妙的在每個敘事者的風格間轉換，並保有原文的韻味。Rebhorn的譯本沿用了中世紀的用語，保留了作品的時代感，在語意上也保留了原文多變的風格，讓現代讀者也能感受到作品本身的趣味。
